NAVEE electric scooters compared: V, G5, GT3, ST3 and the 5-series

NAVEE names its scooters by family, then by Pro, Max or Ultra X. Once you know the pattern, picking the right one gets much easier. Here is the whole lineup.

Published Oct 8, 20268 min read

The short answer

Choosing a NAVEE electric scooter starts with the family, then the Pro or Max battery inside it. The V25, V25 Pro and V40i are the light ones, at 37 to 39 lb. The G5 and GT3 families hold a 20 mph top speed with suspension, and range grows as you step up to Max. The ST3 family and GT5 Max reach 24.9 to 25 mph. The XT5 Pro, NT5 and UT5 models are 31 to 43 mph off-road capable scooters rated for 330 lb riders.

  • V family: the lightest NAVEE scooters, with the NAVEE app. The V25 tops out at 15.5 mph, the V25 Pro and V40i at 20 mph.
  • Inside the G5 and GT3 families, Pro and Max models add battery and range at the same 20 mph.
  • ST3, ST3 Pro and GT5 Max: 24.9 to 25 mph, a rear disc brake, and up to 286 lb on the GT5 Max.
  • 5-series: XT5 Pro, NT5 Max, NT5 Ultra X, UT5 Max and UT5 Ultra X, all off-road capable, IPX6 and rated for 330 lb.

How NAVEE names its scooters

NAVEE builds families of scooters, then offers bigger batteries inside each family. In the G5, GT3 and ST3 families, a Pro has more battery than the base model, and a Max more again. In the 5-series, Ultra X means two motors.

V25, V25 Pro and V40i: light and simple

  • V25: a 600W peak motor, a 15.5 mph top speed and up to 15.5 miles, at 37.7 lb. It has a 4-inch tilted display, an auto-sensing headlight, front E-ABS with a rear brake and the NAVEE app.
  • V25 Pro: the same range at a faster 20 mph, at 37 lb, with a rotatable handlebar and a hidden AirTag slot. It carries riders up to 220 lb.
  • V40i: a 700W motor, 20 mph and up to 25 miles, at 39 lb. It moves to a disc brake with E-ABS, adds turn signals on the handlebar and lists IP55.

All three roll on 10-inch air tires and list no suspension. The V40i is the pick of the three for most commuters, with the most range and a disc brake for 2 lb more than the V25 Pro. The V25 suits riders who want a lower top speed. For more on choosing a daily scooter, read commuter electric scooters.

G5 vs GT3: two 20 mph families

Both families top out at 20 mph, with suspension, 10-inch tubeless tires, a front drum brake with rear EABS, traction control and Apple Find My. The G5 uses a front fork with a rear arm and adds turn signals on the handlebar. The GT3 uses a front fork with a rear damping cylinder.

  • G5: a 36V 7.65Ah battery (275.4Wh), up to 28 miles, 46.1 lb and about 6 hours to charge.
  • G5 Pro: a 46.8V 7.65Ah battery (358Wh), up to 34.2 miles, 46.7 lb and about 8 hours.
  • G5 Max: a 46.8V 10.2Ah battery (477Wh) and a 1000W peak motor, up to 43.5 miles, 49.8 lb and about 8 hours.
  • GT3: a 358Wh battery and a 700W peak motor, up to 31 miles, 46.3 lb and 8 hours. It carries riders up to 243 lb.
  • GT3 Pro: a 477.4Wh battery and a 1000W peak motor, up to 37.3 miles, 48.5 lb and 8 hours, with climbing up to 22%.
  • GT3 Max: a 596.7Wh battery, up to 46.6 miles, 50.7 lb and 10 hours, with climbing up to 22%.

Stepping up costs little weight. The G5 Max weighs 3.7 lb more than the G5 and lists 15.5 more miles, and the GT3 Max weighs 4.4 lb more than the GT3 for 15.6 more miles. The G5 models and the GT3 Pro and Max carry riders up to 265 lb.

ST3, ST3 Pro and GT5 Max: a little faster

These three lift the top speed to 24.9 or 25 mph and add a rear disc brake to the front drum and EABS.

  • ST3: dual Damping Arm suspension, 10-inch self-sealing tubeless tires, a 1000W peak motor and a 477.4Wh battery for up to 37.3 miles. It weighs 54.7 lb and climbs up to 24%.
  • ST3 Pro: the ST3 with a 1350W peak motor and a 596.7Wh battery for up to 46.6 miles, at 55.8 lb, with climbing up to 28%.
  • GT5 Max: a 1638W peak motor, a 596.7Wh battery for up to 55.9 miles and a front fork with a rear damping cylinder. It weighs 54.7 lb, charges in 5 to 6 hours and carries riders up to 286 lb.

The GT5 Max has the most range and the highest load limit of the three, and it charges fastest. The ST3 Pro keeps the dual Damping Arm suspension and takes 10 hours to charge.

The 5-series: XT5 Pro, NT5 and UT5

Every 5-series model is off-road capable, and lists IPX6, traction control, Apple Find My and a 330 lb maximum load.

  • XT5 Pro: a 700W rear motor with 2200W peak, 12-inch off-road tubeless tires, Damping Arm suspension front and rear and dual 130 mm discs with EABS. It reaches 31 mph, weighs 76.7 lb and has auto unlock.
  • NT5 Max: an 800W motor with 1900W peak, dual telescopic front suspension with a damping arm rear and 10.5-inch tubeless tires. It reaches 31 mph and weighs 72.1 lb, the lightest of the five.
  • NT5 Ultra X: the NT5 with a 1200W peak motor in each wheel and a bigger 899Wh battery. It reaches 40 mph, climbs up to 45% and weighs 80.5 lb.
  • UT5 Max: a 2400W peak motor, a 716Wh battery, dual hydraulic suspension with adjustable rear damping and 12-inch self-healing tubeless tires. It reaches 31.1 mph and weighs 75 lb.
  • UT5 Ultra X: the flagship, with a 2400W peak motor in each wheel, a 60V 22.3Ah battery (1284Wh), hydraulic disc brakes front and rear and a NavXride steering damper. It reaches 43 mph, climbs up to 46% and weighs 90.4 lb.

Pick the XT5 Pro for dirt and gravel, the NT5 Max for the lightest 5-series, and an Ultra X for two motors and steep climbs. The UT5 Max gives the longest range of the single motor models. Before you head off the pavement, read off-road electric scooters.

The Ultra X models reach 40 to 43 mph. Wear a full face helmet and gloves, and check your state and city rules on where a scooter this fast may ride. Our safety gear guide covers what to wear.

Reading NAVEE range figures

NAVEE quotes most of its range figures at a steady 9 to 9.3 mph. That is far slower than most people ride, so plan on less, especially in the fastest mode, in the cold or on hills. Our guide to real electric scooter range shows how to estimate your own.

Which NAVEE suits you

  • A light, simple commuter: the V40i, or the V25 Pro to save 2 lb.
  • Suspension and range at 20 mph: the G5 Max or GT3 Max.
  • A little more speed and a rear disc: the ST3 Pro or GT5 Max.
  • Rough roads, trails and 330 lb riders: the XT5 Pro, NT5 Max or UT5 Max.
  • Experienced riders who want two motors: the NT5 Ultra X or UT5 Ultra X.
