Best electric scooter brands of 2026: what each brand does well

No brand is best at everything. Here is what each brand we carry does well, judged on build, parts and support, the spread of models and value.

Published Oct 8, 20268 min read

The short answer

The best electric scooter brands are the ones whose models fit your ride. For commuting, Hiboy, Segway and NAVEE build light to mid weight models, with solid tire options, traction control or Apple Find My depending on the brand. KUKIRIN, JOYOR and Ausom put bigger batteries and often dual motors into value performance models. Kaabo, YUME, Teewing and Teverun focus on dual motor power for hills and rough ground, and NAMI, WEPED and INMOTION reach the premium end. Choose the model first, then check the warranty, parts and certification behind it.

  • Judge a brand by its models: build, parts and support, the spread of its lineup and what each price band buys.
  • Commuting: Hiboy, Segway and NAVEE. Value performance: KUKIRIN, JOYOR and Ausom.
  • Dual motor and off-road: Kaabo, YUME, Teewing and Teverun. Premium and hyper: NAMI, WEPED and INMOTION.
  • Before you buy, check the warranty terms, how you would get wear parts and whether the model lists UL 2272 certification.

How we judged the brands

We looked at four things, all taken from the makers’ own listings rather than opinion. No brand wins on all four, so this guide groups brands by what they do well instead of ranking them.

  • Build: brakes, suspension, tires, water rating and frame.
  • Parts and support: the maker’s warranty terms, access to wear parts such as tires and brake pads, and UL 2272 certification.
  • Range of models: a model for your trip, your weight and your storage space.
  • Value: what the specs give you in each broad price band: under $1,000, $1,000 to $2,000, and $2,000 and up.

Every brand here is one we carry, and each has its own brand page with its full lineup. See them all on our brands page.

Best for commuting: Hiboy, Segway and NAVEE

These three build light to mid weight commuters for daily city trips, and each lineup also reaches into faster, heavier models.

  • Hiboy has some of the lightest commuters we carry: the S2R Plus weighs 31.5 lbs. The S2 Pro rides on solid honeycomb tires that never go flat, the Q2 adds a seat, and every Hiboy model lists IPX4. The S2 Pro, S2 MAX, S2R Plus and S2 Nova list UL 2272 certification.
  • Segway lists traction control (TCS) and Apple Find My on most of its models, and water ratings up to IPX6 on the F3, Max G3, Max G3 Plus, GT3 and GT3 Pro. The E2 Plus II, E2 Pro, F2 and F3 list UL 2272 certification. The Max G3 carries riders up to 286 lbs.
  • NAVEE builds many commuters around 20 mph with suspension: the G5 and GT3 families pair a front fork with a rear arm or damping cylinder. Most models list TCS and Apple Find My. The GT5 Max lists up to 55.9 miles and a 286 lbs max load, and the UT5, NT5 and XT5 models step up to IPX6 and 330 lbs.

Best for value performance: KUKIRIN, JOYOR and Ausom

These brands put bigger batteries, disc or hydraulic brakes and often dual motors into models that sit mostly under $1,000 or in the $1,000 to $2,000 band.

  • KUKIRIN lists front and rear disc brakes and IP54 across its G-series, with a 12 or 24 month warranty option. The G2 Max has a removable seat and off-road tires, the G4 runs a 2000W rear motor on a 60V 20Ah battery, and the dual motor G3 Pro carries riders up to 330 lbs.
  • JOYOR builds on aluminum alloy frames. The T10 and S10-S-Z run dual motors on 60V 18Ah (1,080Wh) batteries with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, and JOYOR states UL certification for the T10. The E6-S adds a removable 60V 31.5Ah (1,890Wh) battery.
  • Ausom offers the DT2 Pro: dual motors, a 52V 23.4Ah (1216.8Wh) battery, dual hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear suspension, IP54 and a 297 lbs max load.

Best for dual motor and off-road: Kaabo, YUME, Teewing and Teverun

These four build mostly dual motor models, many with hydraulic brakes and heavy duty suspension, for hills and rough ground.

  • Kaabo runs from the 44 lb Urban commuter through the dual motor Mantis family to the all-terrain Warrior models and the King flagships. The Wolf King GTR Max pairs a 72V 40Ah (2,845 Wh) Samsung battery with 4-piston hydraulic brakes. Most Kaabo models list IPX5.
  • YUME sticks to dual motor, 60V models with ZOOM hydraulic brakes and a 330 lbs max load. The Raptor2 and XTRON list IP66 and the YUME Mobility app, and YUME offers 13 mph speed-limited versions of the Raptor2 and X11+.
  • Teewing covers a wide spread, from the 22 lb X6 Backpack to the Mars XTR on a 72V 45Ah battery. Its X3, X4, X5, Z4 Pro, Q7 Pro and Mars models list a 440 lbs max load, and the X5 comes with a seat, bag, lock, phone holder, pump and mirrors.
  • Teverun lists dual motors, full hydraulic disc brakes and IPX6 across its lineup. The Fighter models add KKE adjustable hydraulic suspension, and the Fighter 11+ adds built-in GPS with Teverun App 2.0. Teverun caps the Fighter 11+ and Blade GT II at 15.5 mph from the factory for public roads.

These are heavy, powerful machines. Check your state and city rules on where you may ride them, and wear full protective gear. Single vs dual motor electric scooters explains when a second motor is worth the weight.

Premium and hyper: NAMI, WEPED and INMOTION

  • NAMI builds the Klima and Burn-E families on tubular aluminum frames, with dual motors, adjustable KKE hydraulic suspension, hydraulic brakes, and IPX5 with an IP65 dash and controller. The Burn-E runs a 72V 30Ah (2,190Wh) battery and lists up to 68 miles.
  • WEPED makes every model in Korea and builds it to order, so a WEPED takes longer to reach you than a model shipped from stock. Every WEPED we carry lists Samsung SDI 21700 50E cells, from the Fold 3 at about 93 lb to the Sonic flagships on 20-inch tubeless tires.
  • INMOTION spans light commuters and a dual motor flagship. The Air weighs 34.5 lbs, the S1F carries riders up to 308 lbs, and the RS JET pairs an 1800 Wh battery with front and rear suspension, self-sealing tubeless tires and IP56.

How to choose between brands

  • Start with the model, not the logo. Your trip, your weight and your storage narrow the choice faster than a brand name. Our best electric scooters of 2026 groups picks by rider type.
  • Check the warranty. The maker sets the terms, by model and part. Our electric scooter warranty guide explains what is usually covered.
  • Check parts. Tires and brake pads wear on every brand, so ask how you would get them before you buy.
  • Check certification. Look for UL 2272 certification in the specs, as our UL 2272 guide explains.

Questions riders ask

Which electric scooter brand is most reliable?

We do not rank brands on reliability, because it varies by model and by how a scooter is ridden and cared for. Check what stands behind the model instead: the warranty terms and who handles a claim, whether you can get tires, brake pads and other wear parts, and whether the model lists UL 2272 certification.

Which brand is best for heavy riders?

Compare the max load of each model rather than the brand. Teewing lists 440 lbs on its X3, X4, X5, Z4 Pro, Q7 Pro and Mars models, and the WEPED miniGO Pro Max lists 352 lbs. YUME lists 330 lbs across its lineup, as do larger models from Hiboy, Segway, NAVEE, KUKIRIN, Kaabo, Teverun and INMOTION. See electric scooters for heavy adults.

Are Segway and Hiboy the same?

No. Segway and Hiboy are separate brands, each with its own lineup. Their commuters differ too: Segway lists traction control and Apple Find My on most models, while Hiboy offers solid tire and seated options and lists IPX4 across its range.

Which brand has the longest range?

Among these brands, the longest listed ranges are WEPED’s Sonic S Dual and Sonic S Expander at about 174 miles, then the Kaabo Wolf King GTR Max and Teverun Fighter Supreme Ultra 2.0 at about 124 miles. Makers test range at a steady pace, so expect less in real riding.
