Dual Motor Electric Scooters

Every electric scooter on this page has two drive motors, one in each wheel. Dual motors mean harder acceleration, steeper hills and better grip on loose ground, and most models let you switch to a single motor on the flat to stretch range. Brands here include Kaabo, Teverun, NAMI, YUME, WEPED, KUKIRIN, Teewing, NANROBOT, Ausom and more.

Single vs dual motor: acceleration, hills and efficiency

A single motor electric scooter is lighter, cheaper and more efficient, and for flat commuting it is often the better buy. Add a second motor and you double the drive: acceleration is much stronger, steep hills that stall a single motor become routine, and traction on wet or loose surfaces improves because both wheels pull. The costs are weight, price and higher power draw when both motors run.

Motor watts: nominal vs peak

Makers quote motor power two ways. Nominal (or rated) watts is what the motor sustains continuously; peak watts is the short burst it can deliver for acceleration and climbs. A “2 × 1,000W” electric scooter might peak at 3,000–4,000W combined. We show peak power as the filter figure, and the product page lists nominal power where the maker publishes it. Compare like with like.

Riding on one motor to save range

Most dual motor electric scooters have a switch for single or dual drive. Ride on one motor for everyday cruising and switch both on for hills, headwinds or fast starts. Single-motor mode typically gives a large improvement in range on the same charge.

60V and 72V batteries

Dual motors need current, and higher voltage supplies it with less strain. Most 40+ mph dual motor models run 60V; the strongest run 72V. Battery size in Wh sets how long the power lasts. See the long range collection for the biggest packs.

Comparing dual motor models

Sort the grid by motor power. Product pages list peak power, battery voltage, battery Wh, top speed and rated range in the same spec rows, so two models can be compared like for like.

Questions

Asked and answered

Is a dual motor electric scooter worth it?

If you ride hills, carry more weight, ride off-road or want strong acceleration, yes. For flat, short commutes a single motor model is lighter and cheaper and may suit you better.

Does a dual motor electric scooter use more battery?

With both motors running, yes. Most models let you ride on a single motor to save range and switch to dual for hills and fast starts.

How many watts do I need?

For flat city riding, a single 500–1,000W motor is plenty. For steep hills or heavier riders, dual motors with 2,000W or more combined peak power make a clear difference.

Can I ride on one motor?

On most dual motor electric scooters, yes. A switch on the handlebar selects single or dual drive; the product page says whether a model has it.
