10000 watt electric scooter: what 5,000 to 10,000 W and up really means

A big number in the product name can be rated power, peak power or two motors added together. Here is how to read the 6,000 to 10,000 W listings, and what that power asks of the rest of the scooter.

Published Oct 11, 20267 min read

The short answer

A 10000 watt electric scooter is a dual motor machine on a 72V battery, and the 10,000 W is usually a headline: often two motors added together, and often a peak figure rather than what the motors can hold. In our catalog the Teewing Mars XTR 10000W and the ESHINER Molo 5 list 10000 W, the Hooga Daytona lists up to 10 kW, and the Kaabo King GTR lists 13,440 W peak on two 2,000 W rated motors. Before you compare, find out whether the number is rated or peak, and per motor or combined. Then check the battery, brakes and weight that come with it.

  • A 10,000 W figure is often two motors added together, and often a peak, not what the motors hold.
  • The Kaabo King GTR shows the gap: 2,000 W x 2 rated, 13,440 W peak.
  • Peak power often matches the controller current times the battery voltage at full charge.
  • Power that size drains a battery fast and needs strong brakes, wide tires and a legal place to ride.

Which scooters list 6,000 to 10,000 W and up

Several listings in our catalog print a motor figure of 6,000 W or more. The makers below give one number, without saying whether it is rated or peak.

Maker figures, checked September 2026. Real range and speed depend on rider weight, terrain, temperature and riding mode.

  • Teewing Mars XTR 10000W: 10000 W from two motors on a 72V 45Ah battery, 11 in tubeless off-road tires, hydraulic disc brakes with EABS and IP66, at 132.7 lb.
  • ESHINER Molo 5: 10000 W from two motors, a 72V 50Ah battery and a seat included.
  • Teewing Mars XT 8000W: 8000 W, a 72V 35Ah battery, adjustable Telelever-style suspension and a 6 hour charge, at 131.2 lb.
  • NANROBOT LS7+: 6000 W, which NANROBOT describes as two 3,000 W motors.

The Teewing Z4 Pro 8000W and X4 5600W carry a wattage in the name but no motor figure in their specifications. If the number decides your choice, ask us before you order.

Rated, peak or combined?

One scooter can honestly carry three different power figures. Rated power is what a motor holds for long stretches. Peak power is a burst of a few seconds. Combined adds two motors together. Our guide to electric scooter watts covers the basics; here is how they look at the top of the scale.

Rated combined power in the motor column; peak figures are in the text below. The Daytona lists only its output of up to 10 kW.

Maker figures, checked September 2026. Real range and speed depend on rider weight, terrain, temperature and riding mode.

So a 10,000 W headline and a 4,000 W rated figure can describe scooters with similar real strength. Compare rated with rated where both makers publish it. Where a maker gives one figure only, treat it as a peak until you know otherwise.

Where peak figures come from

Peak power often describes the controller more than the motor. Multiply the controller current by the battery voltage at full charge, and you often land on the listed peak:

  • Kaabo King GT Pro: two 72V 50A controllers. A 72V pack charges to about 84V, and 84V x 100A is 8,400 W, the listed peak.
  • Kaabo Warrior 11 Max: two 60V 50A controllers. 67.2V x 100A is 6,720 W, the listed peak.
  • Hooga Daytona: dual 72V 60A controllers. 84V x 120A is about 10,080 W, which matches its up to 10 kW.

It is a ceiling for a moment on a full battery. As the charge drops, the voltage drops, and so does the peak.

What that power asks of the battery

Power is energy per hour, so a big motor empties a battery quickly. A rough worked example: held at 10,000 W, the Daytona’s 2,880 Wh pack would last about 17 minutes. No one holds full power that long, but it explains why Hooga rates the Daytona at up to 40 miles flat out against 80 miles in ideal conditions.

  • Current: 10,000 W from a 72V pack means roughly 120 to 140 amps. Wiring, connectors and the battery management system are built for it, which is why repairs belong with a qualified technician.
  • Capacity: multiply volts by amp hours. The Molo 5’s 72V 50Ah pack holds about 3,600 Wh, the Mars XTR’s 72V 45Ah about 3,240 Wh and the Kaabo Wolf King GTR Max lists 2,845 Wh.
  • Heat: controllers and batteries can cut power when they get hot, so repeated hard launches will not all feel the same.

Charge with the chargers made for the scooter, on a hard surface, with someone at home. Our battery care guide covers the rest. Never modify the battery or the controller.

What you feel on the road

The extra watts show up as acceleration and climbing, more than top speed. Kaabo lists 0 to 31 mph in 3.5 s for the King GTR and the GTR Max. Hooga lists 45 degree climbing for the Daytona, Kaabo up to 50 degrees for the King GT Pro and the GTR Max, and Teewing a 45 degree slope for the Teewing X5 6000W.

Many of these models let you dial the power back. The King GTR has a single and dual motor switch, so you can ride on one motor in town and save battery. Learn every model in its lowest mode first.

Brakes, tires and weight to match

  • Brakes: the King GTR and King GT Pro pair hydraulic brakes on 6.3 in discs with ABS, the GTR Max uses 4-piston hydraulic brakes, and the Daytona 4-piston hydraulic brakes with DOT fluid.
  • Tires: the King GTR and GTR Max run 100/55-7 self-healing tires, and the Daytona 13 in self-sealing tubeless tires.
  • Weight: from 115 lb for the King GT Pro to 152 lb for the Daytona. Plan on ground level storage.

Wear motorcycle gear on every ride: a full face helmet, an armored jacket, gloves, armored pants and boots. See our electric scooter safety gear guide.

Power and the rules

Laws often set limits on power as well as speed. Many states that use the e-bike classes expect a motor rated at 750 watts or less, and many cap electric scooters at 15 to 20 mph. Every scooter in this guide is far past those limits, so in many places it is legal only on private land with the owner’s permission.

This is general information, not legal advice. Check your state motor vehicle agency and your city website, and read electric scooter laws: what to check before you ride.

Choosing a high wattage electric scooter

  • Clear rated and peak figures: the Kaabo King GTR, King GT Pro and GTR Max, and the INMOTION RS.
  • The 10,000 W headline with a big battery: the Teewing Mars XTR 10000W.
  • 10 kW with self-sealing tires and turn signals: the Hooga Daytona.
  • 6000 W with a seat, under $2,000: the Teewing X5.

Above 10,000 W, WEPED fits two 8,000 W hub motors to the Sonic Dual and the seated Sonic S Expander. Our sibling guide to 80 mph electric scooters covers that end of the scale, and single vs dual motor electric scooters explains why every model here uses two motors.

Questions riders ask

Is a 10,000 watt electric scooter really 10,000 watts?

Usually as a peak or combined figure. Two motors are often added together, and the number is often a burst rather than what the motors hold. Ask whether it is rated or peak before you compare.

What is the difference between rated and peak watts?

Rated watts are what a motor can hold for long stretches. Peak watts are a short burst. The Kaabo King GTR, for example, lists 2,000 W x 2 rated and 13,440 W peak.

Does more wattage mean a higher top speed?

Not by itself. Battery voltage, motor design and the maker’s settings set top speed. Extra watts mostly bring harder acceleration and stronger climbing.

Can I ride a 10,000 watt electric scooter on the street?

In many places, no. Its power and speed put it outside many state and city definitions, so it may be legal only on private land. Check your state and city rules.
