Front vs full suspension electric bike: which one your roads need
A front fork handles most city riding. Full suspension pays off on broken pavement, gravel and trails, at the cost of weight and upkeep. Here is how to choose.

Adult electric dirt bikes run from 100 lb trail bikes with pedals to 200 lb machines with 30 kW motors. Here is how to match the class, the fit and the budget to the rider.
The short answer
The right electric dirt bike for adults depends on experience, size and budget. Entry trail bikes such as the Riding’times GT73 Pro and Nanrobot GTR weigh about 115 to 137 lb, list 34 to 46 mph and sit under $2,000. Light trail bikes such as the Surron Light Bee X and E Ride Pro PRO SS 2.0 weigh 125 to 140 lb, run 60V to 72V batteries and sit in the $3,000 to $5,000 range. Full-power bikes such as the Talaria Komodo 2025 and Surron Ultra Bee HP SW pass 190 lb and 59 mph. Check seat height and weight limit first. Every adult dirt bike we carry is for off-road use only.
An adult electric dirt bike is sized and rated for a grown rider. In practice that means three things: full-size wheels (usually 17 inches or larger), a seat high enough for adult legs, and a weight limit that covers an adult plus gear.
Some pit size bikes also suit adults. The NAVEE Storm G and Nanrobot GTR run 14 and 12 inch wheels but carry riders up to 265 lb. Wheel size alone does not decide it; seat height, weight limit and power do.
Buying for a younger rider instead? Our guides to electric dirt bikes for teens and kids electric dirt bikes cover the smaller sizes.
Seated, you should reach the ground with at least the balls of both feet. Here are the listed seat heights for adult bikes in our catalog:
Weight limits vary even more. The Surron Light Bee X, Surron Ultra Bee HP SW and NAVEE Storm X and Storm X Pro list 220 lb. The E Ride Pro adult bikes, YVolt Surge V, NAVEE Storm G and Nanrobot GTR list 265 lb. The Riding’times GT73 family lists 330 lb, and the Talaria Komodo 2025 353 lb.
Riders near the top of these ranges should read our guide to electric dirt bikes for heavy riders, and electric dirt bike sizes shows how to measure fit.
These bikes suit adults who want relaxed trail riding or a first motorcycle-style bike. They use hub motors and 48V or 60V batteries.
Our sibling guide to electric mini motorbikes explains how the GT73 style differs from a full dirt bike.
This is the class most experienced adult riders buy. The bikes weigh about 125 to 150 lb, run 60V or 72V batteries and have far more power than the entry class.
The Altis Delta and the E Ride Pro PRO-S also sit in this class, both with 72V batteries and seats around 31 to 32 in.
These are for experienced riders only. They weigh about 170 to 216 lb and list from 59 mph to more than 75 mph, all for off-road use only.
The E Ride Pro PRO 4.0 sits just under this band with an 18 kW peak motor and 167 lb, and the Altis Sigma and Omega sit at the top, both listed at 75+ mph.

A 52V battery gives a little more punch than a 48V one at the same current, but range comes from watt hours, the speed cap stays the same and the whole system has to match.
A 750 W motor pulls harder up hills and away from lights than a 500 W motor, but it does not raise the speed limit, and torque often tells you more than watts.
