Electric dirt bike weight: how much each model weighs, from kids’ bikes to 216 lb

Most adult electric dirt bikes weigh between 100 and 220 lb. Here is what each model in our catalog weighs, what the weight terms mean, and why the number matters for riding and transport.

Published Nov 1, 20267 min read

The short answer

Electric dirt bike weight runs from 38 lb for small kids’ bikes to 216 lb for full-power adult bikes. In our catalog, youth and mini bikes such as the Surron Hyper Bee and Riding’times GT54 weigh about 86 to 107 lb. Trail bikes such as the Riding’times GT73 and Surron Light Bee X weigh about 115 to 150 lb. Full-power bikes such as the Surron Ultra Bee HP SW and Talaria Komodo 2025 weigh about 167 to 216 lb. Makers list net, curb, dry or with-battery weights, so compare with care.

  • Kids’ electric dirt bikes start at 38 lb; youth and mini bikes weigh about 86 to 107 lb.
  • Most adult trail bikes weigh 115 to 150 lb, and full-power bikes 167 to 216 lb.
  • More battery and more motor almost always mean more weight, and more range and power in return.
  • Weight decides how easy a bike is to handle, lift and transport, so check it against your rack or ramp.

Net, curb, dry: what the weight means

Makers describe electric dirt bike weight in different ways, and the terms are not always defined.

  • Net weight: usually the bike itself as delivered, without packaging. Riding’times and NAVEE use this term.
  • Curb weight: usually the bike ready to ride. Surron uses this term.
  • Dry weight: on a gas bike, the weight without fuel and oil. An electric bike has no fuel tank, so the gap is smaller. Talaria uses this term for the Komodo 2025.
  • With battery: YVolt and Altis say plainly that their figure includes the battery.

Treat figures within a few pounds of each other as about the same. The bigger differences, 30 lb or more, are the ones you will feel when you ride or lift the bike.

Kids’ and youth bikes: 38 to 107 lb

  • Hiboy DK1: 38 lb, for ages 3 to 10, with a 140 lb max load.
  • Surron Hyper Bee: 86 lb curb weight, a mini and pit size bike for teens and youth, with a 121 lb max load.
  • NANROBOT KD2W14: 91.9 lb, with 12 and 10 inch wheels and a 265 lb max load.
  • Riding’times GT54 Pro: 102.5 lb, and the GT54 106.5 lb, both with a 27.2 in seat and a 220 lb max load. The two 15 mph Safety Editions match their standard bikes.

A child should be able to hold the bike upright and push it a few feet without help. For the youngest riders, a light kids’ bike is safer to learn on; our guide to kids electric dirt bikes covers ages and sizes. Our sibling guide to GT54 top speed and range covers the GT54 family in full.

Trail bikes: about 115 to 150 lb

This is where most adult riders land. These bikes are light enough for one person to steer around a garage, but too heavy to lift alone.

Notice how close the GT73 Pro and Light Bee X are. They weigh within 3 lb of each other, yet the Light Bee X has an 8 kW peak motor against the GT73 Pro’s 3,000 W peak, while the GT73 Pro carries two batteries, pedals and a 330 lb max load. Weight alone does not tell you how a bike rides.

Full-power bikes: about 167 to 216 lb

These bikes carry big batteries: 72V to 97.2V packs, and the Komodo’s 96V 45Ah battery holds 4,320 Wh. That weight buys power and range, but it also takes more strength and skill to hold a bike up on a slope or pull it out of mud. These are bikes for experienced riders, all for off-road use only.

Our listings for the Talaria Sting MX5 Pro, Talaria X3 Pro / XXX Pro, Altis Delta and Altis Omega give no weight. Ask us before you order if weight decides your choice.

Maker figures, checked September 2026. Real range and speed depend on rider weight, terrain, temperature and riding mode.

Why weight matters

  • Handling: a lighter bike is easier to lift after a fall, turn in tight spots and throw around on jumps. A heavier bike feels more planted at speed.
  • Range: a bigger battery adds weight but also adds range. A heavy bike with a big pack often goes further than a light one.
  • Learning: newer riders do better on a bike they can hold up and walk around. Our guide to electric dirt bikes for beginners explains why.
  • Rider weight is a separate number. A bike’s max load covers the rider and gear, and it varies from 121 lb to 353 lb in our catalog. Our guide to electric dirt bikes for heavy riders compares those limits.

Weight and transport

Most riders feel a bike’s weight most when they load it. A 100 lb bike is a two-person lift; a 200 lb bike needs a ramp.

  • Hitch carriers: check the carrier’s rated capacity and your vehicle’s tongue weight limit against the bike’s weight.
  • Truck beds and trailers: use a ramp rated for the bike, wheel chocks and proper tie-down straps.
  • Removable batteries: on bikes such as the Riding’times GT73 and Surron Light Bee X, taking the battery out can lighten the lift. Follow the maker’s manual when you remove or refit it.

Our guide on how to transport an electric dirt bike covers racks, ramps and tie-downs step by step.

Choosing by weight

  • Under 110 lb: youth riders, smaller adults and anyone who must lift the bike often.
  • About 115 to 150 lb: most adults who ride trails, and riders moving up from a mini.
  • About 165 lb and up: experienced riders who want full power and long range.
