Hiboy electric scooter lineup compared: S2 family, MAX Pro, TITAN PRO and the seated models

Hiboy covers light commuters, long range scooters and seated models. Here is how the whole adult scooter line compares, and which one fits your ride.

Published Nov 1, 20267 min read

The short answer

Choosing a Hiboy electric scooter starts with the job. The S2 family covers light, folding commuters at 19 mph (13 mph on the teen S2 Lite), with 17 to 40 miles of range. The MAX Pro adds dual suspension and up to 46.6 miles at 22 mph. The dual motor TITAN PRO is the long range flagship, with up to 80 miles and hydraulic brakes. If you want to sit, the Q2, U2 and fat tire U2 Pro all come with a seat. Pick the lightest model that covers your longest ride.

  • S2 family: folding commuters from 31.5 to 40.6 lb, 19 mph, and 17 to 40 miles depending on the battery.
  • MAX Pro: 48V, up to 46.6 miles, 22 mph, dual suspension and 11 inch self-healing tires.
  • TITAN PRO: dual motors at 2400W combined peak, up to 80 miles, 33 mph and hydraulic brakes, at 103.6 lb.
  • Seated: the Q2 and U2 run 20 mph on 14 inch air tires, and the U2 Pro adds 16 x 4 inch fat tires and 25 mph.

The Hiboy scooter lineup at a glance

Hiboy’s adult electric scooters fall into three groups, and almost every model sits under $1,500.

Hiboy also makes kids’ scooters such as the Joy Haul and Q2 Lite for ages 5 to 8; find them in our kids electric rides. The single motor TITAN is out of stock right now. See everything on the Hiboy brand page.

The S2 family: light folding commuters

Every S2 model folds, has a single motor and tops out at 19 mph, except the teen S2 Lite at 13 mph. The differences are battery size, tires and suspension. We compare the S2, S2 Pro and S2 MAX in depth in Hiboy S2 vs S2 Pro vs S2 Max, so here is the short version of the whole family.

  • S2 Lite: a 250W motor (400W peak), a 36V 5Ah battery, up to 10.6 miles, 6.5 inch solid tires and 21.8 lb. Hiboy recommends it for riders 12 and up, from 3’7″ to 5’7″, up to 180 lb.
  • S2: 350W (500W peak), a 36V 7.5Ah battery, up to 17 miles, 8.5 inch honeycomb tires, dual rear shocks and 35.49 lb.
  • S2 SE: 350W (430W peak), a 36V 7.8Ah battery, up to 17 miles, a solid 10 inch front and air-filled 10 inch rear tire, and 37.8 lb. It has no suspension and stops with an e-brake and a rear drum.
  • S2 Nova: 350W (420W peak), a 36V 9Ah battery, up to 20 miles, a solid front and air-filled rear tire at 8.5 inches, rear suspension, app sync and 34.5 lb. Hiboy lists UL 2272 certification.
  • S2R Plus: 350W (500W peak), a key-release 36V 8.7Ah battery you can charge indoors, up to 22 miles, 9 inch air tires and 31.5 lb, the lightest adult S2. A spare battery, sold separately, stretches the range to 44 miles.
  • S2 Pro: 500W (600W peak), a 36V 11.6Ah battery, up to 25 miles, 10 inch honeycomb tires, dual rear shocks, regenerative braking and 37.4 lb.
  • KS4 Pro: 500W (750W peak), a 36V 11.6Ah battery, up to 25 miles, 10 inch solid honeycomb tires, rear suspension, a rear disc with front EABS, and 40.6 lb.
  • S2 MAX: the 48V model, with 500W (650W peak), a 48V 11.6Ah battery, up to 40 miles, 10 inch self-healing tires, regenerative braking and 40 lb.

Solid and honeycomb tires never go flat but ride firmer. Air-filled and self-healing tires ride softer. Our guide to solid vs air filled electric scooter tires explains the trade. Most S2 models carry riders up to 220 lb.

MAX Pro and TITAN PRO: the long range models

When 25 miles is not enough, Hiboy moves to bigger 48V batteries and full suspension.

  • Hiboy MAX Pro: a 500W motor (650W peak), a 48V 15Ah battery, up to 46.6 miles and 22 mph. It has dual suspension, 11 inch self-healing tires, drum and electronic brakes, three riding modes and cruise control. It weighs 51.59 lb, folds and carries riders up to 265 lb. Charging takes 8 to 9 hours.
  • Hiboy TITAN PRO: dual 750W motors at 2400W combined peak, a 48V 36Ah battery, up to 80 miles and 33 mph, and Hiboy lists 35% climbing. It has hydraulic brakes front and rear, front and rear suspension, 10 inch gel-filled tubeless tires and a 3.5 inch display. It weighs 103.6 lb, folds, carries riders up to 330 lb and is rated IPX4 for the scooter and IPX5 for the battery. Charging takes 8.5 to 9.5 hours.

The MAX Pro is still a scooter you can carry for a short stretch. The TITAN PRO is not. At 103.6 lb, it suits riders with ground level storage who want the longest range and the strongest brakes in the Hiboy line. For more options in this class, see long range electric scooters.

Q2, U2 and U2 Pro: Hiboy’s seated scooters

All three seated Hiboys carry a rear basket and roll on big tires.

  • Hiboy Q2: 20 mph and up to 22 miles on a 324Wh battery, 14 inch air tires, front and rear suspension, a 9.5 inch wide footrest, a built-in rear basket and 61.5 lb.
  • Hiboy U2: 20 mph and up to 25 miles on a 36V 374.4Wh battery, 14 inch air tires, front and rear suspension, an extra-thick padded seat, a rear basket, three speed modes, a thumb throttle and 61.5 lb.
  • Hiboy U2 Pro: a 750W motor (810W peak), a 48V 13Ah battery, 25 mph and up to 34 miles, 16 x 4 inch all-terrain fat tires, rear suspension, a 3.5 inch memory foam seat, dual disc brakes and a 17.3 x 10.2 inch deck. It weighs 80.69 lb and carries riders up to 265 lb.

The Q2 and U2 are close cousins; the U2 has the bigger battery. The U2 Pro is the step up for heavier riders, rougher roads and more speed. The Q2 and U2 carry riders up to 220 lb.
