EMOVE RoadRunner vs Cruiser: SE, V3 and Pro seated scooters against the Cruiser V2

The EMOVE RoadRunner is a seated, moped style scooter in three sizes. The Cruiser V2 is a stand-up long range commuter. Here is how all four compare.

Published Nov 1, 20267 min read

The short answer

The EMOVE RoadRunner is the seated choice and the Cruiser V2 is the stand-up one. The RoadRunner SE is the light starter, with 20 mph, a swappable battery and 39 lb without it. The RoadRunner V3 adds dual 500W motors, 34 mph and up to 50 miles, and its bars fold. The RoadRunner Pro is a 60 mph, 135 lb machine for experienced riders. The Cruiser V2 suits riders who want to stand, with up to 62 miles, quad suspension and a 33 mph single motor or 44 mph dual motor build.

  • RoadRunner SE: 20 mph, up to 20 miles, a swappable 36V battery and a 50 lb frame that drops to 39 lb with the battery out.
  • RoadRunner V3: dual 500W motors, 34 mph, up to 50 miles, a removable 48V battery and folding bars.
  • RoadRunner Pro: two 2,000W motors (8.4 kW peak), 60 mph and up to 75 miles on the 60Ah battery, at 135 lb.
  • Cruiser V2: a stand-up scooter with up to 62 miles, quad suspension, IPX6 and a single or dual motor build.

Seated RoadRunner or stand-up Cruiser

EMOVE makes two very different scooters. The RoadRunner family puts you on a seat over 14 inch tires, close to a small moped. The Cruiser V2 is a classic stand-up scooter with 10 inch tires and a deck built for long commutes.

See the full lineup on the EMOVE brand page. If you are still deciding whether a seat suits you, our guide to the electric scooter with seat covers who it suits, and the electric scooters with seat collection shows every seated model we carry.

RoadRunner SE: the light seated starter

The SE is the RoadRunner for short trips and easy carrying. A 350W motor (500W peak) and a swappable 36V 10.4Ah battery give it 20 mph and up to 20 miles. It weighs 50 lb, or 39 lb with the battery out, so it is the one to pick if you carry it upstairs.

It rides on 14 x 2.5 inch tubeless tires with an adjustable front fork, stops with mechanical disc brakes on 180 mm rotors and comes with a memory-foam Racer Edition seat. Charging takes about 5 hours. It carries riders up to 240 lb and does not fold.

A swappable battery doubles as range. With a second charged pack, you can swap and keep riding instead of waiting at the outlet. Charge with the maker’s charger and follow the manual.

RoadRunner V3: the dual motor commuter

The V3 is the middle RoadRunner and the one most commuters look at first. Dual 500W hub motors and a removable 48V 1,124 Wh battery give it 34 mph and up to 50 miles. EMOVE lists a 17 degree hill climb.

It has hydraulic front suspension with dual rear springs, XTECH hybrid hydraulic brakes on 180 mm rotors, 14 inch tubeless tires and a padded, adjustable seat. It weighs 55 lb and carries riders up to 330 lb. The battery lifts out for charging indoors (about 9 hours), the bars fold for a car trunk, and EMOVE offers an optional pedal kit.

Against the SE, the V3 adds a second motor, more than twice the range, hydraulic brakes and rear suspension for only 5 lb more. The SE is lighter to lift once its battery is out, and it charges faster.

RoadRunner Pro: the 60 mph seated scooter

The Pro is a different class of machine. Two 2,000W brushless motors (8.4 kW peak) and a 72V battery built with Samsung 50G 21700 cells give it 60 mph. Choose the 40Ah battery for up to 55 miles or the 60Ah battery for up to 75 miles.

It has DOT hydraulic brakes on 203 mm rotors, hydraulic front and spring rear suspension, 14 x 3 inch tubeless tires, a 3 mm tubular frame and a 3.5 inch color display. It weighs 135 lb, carries riders up to 352 lb, takes 8 to 10 hours to charge, is rated IPX5 and does not fold.

At 135 lb and 60 mph, the Pro is for experienced riders with ground level storage. Rules for seated scooters vary by state and city. Check your state motor vehicle agency and your city rules before you ride on public roads. Our guide to the electric moped covers the questions to ask.

Cruiser V2: the stand-up long range commuter

The Cruiser V2 is the EMOVE for riders who want to stand. It comes in two builds that share a 30Ah battery with LG 21700 cells and up to 62 miles of range.

  • 52V single motor: a 1000W brushless motor, 33 mph, XTECH hybrid hydraulic brakes and a 74 lb weight.
  • 60V dual motor (AWD): two 1000W brushless motors, 44 mph, 2-piston full hydraulic brakes and an 85 lb weight.

Both builds have quad suspension, 10 x 3 inch self-sealing tubeless tires, a 3.5 inch color LCD, a 20 degree hill climb and an IPX6 rating, the highest water rating in the EMOVE lineup. Both fold and both carry riders up to 330 lb. Charging takes 9 to 12 hours.

The Cruiser V2 has the most range of any EMOVE short of the Pro’s 60Ah battery, so it suits long commutes where you want to stand and lean into turns.
