Up to 35 lb: the lightest electric scooters for adults, easy to carry one-handed on stairs and onto public transport, usually with 8–10 inch tires, single motors and modest range. 36–45 lb: still foldable and portable, with room for a bigger battery, larger tires and sometimes suspension; a comfortable carry for a short flight of stairs. Above 45 lb an electric scooter can still fold, but carrying becomes a two-handed job, so those models are on the main electric scooters page rather than here.
Folding usually drops the stem onto the deck and latches it to the rear fender, giving a package roughly the length of the deck and the height of the rear wheel. Some models also fold the handlebars inward for a narrower package. Check the folded dimensions on the product page against your trunk, hallway or the space under your desk. A latch that locks positively and a carry handle or hook make the daily fold much easier.
Battery weight is most of what separates a 30 lb electric scooter from a 45 lb one. A light model may be rated for 15–25 miles; a 45 lb model can reach 40 miles or more. If your round trip is short, or you can charge at work, the lighter model will serve you better every day.
Small solid tires never puncture but transmit every crack in the road; air-filled tires ride softer at the cost of occasional flats. Some lightweight electric scooters add simple suspension to smooth things out. Both are listed in the spec rows.

Sort this page by weight to see the current lightest model. The lightest adult electric scooters weigh around 25–30 lb.
Many transit systems allow folded electric scooters, but rules vary by system and time of day. Check your local operator’s policy before relying on it.
Typically 15 to 30 miles on the maker’s rating, less in real riding. Models near the 45 lb limit can go further; compare the range row on each product page.
Check the maker’s maximum rider weight on the product page. Many lightweight models are rated for 220–265 lb; riders above 300 lb should start with the heavy adults collection.
