The Light Bee X and the Ultra Bee HP SW share a name and a forged aluminium frame, and not much else. Here is how far apart they sit, and where the smaller Hyper Bee fits.
The short answer
Surron Light Bee vs Ultra Bee is a choice between a light trail bike and a much bigger, stronger one. The Light Bee X has an 8 kW peak motor, 196 ft-lb of torque, a removable 60V 40Ah battery and a 125.6 lb curb weight. The Ultra Bee HP SW makes 24.5 kW and 384 ft-lb, carries a 74V 60Ah battery rated for 71 miles at 31 mph, and is listed for off-road use only. For younger and smaller riders, the third Bee we carry, the Hyper Bee, is the smaller way in.
Surron builds its electric dirt bikes in clear size steps, and we carry three of them. Each one sits in a different size and power class:
When riders weigh the Surron Light Bee vs Ultra Bee, they are choosing between two size classes, not two trims of one bike. The Light Bee X is the one most adults can handle from the first ride. The Ultra Bee is a big step up in power, battery and speed for riders who have outgrown a light bike.
| Model | Top speed (mph) | Range (miles) | Motor power (W) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Surron Hyper Bee Electric Dirt Bike | 40 | 35 | – |
| Surron Light Bee X Electric Dirt Bike | 46.6 | 46.6 | – |
| Surron Ultra Bee HP SW Electric Dirt Bike | 59 | 71 | – |
Maker figures, checked September 2026. Real range and speed depend on rider weight, terrain, temperature and riding mode.
The Ultra Bee HP SW makes 24.5 kW against the Light Bee X’s 8 kW peak, about three times as much. Torque nearly doubles too, from 196 ft-lb (250 Nm at the wheel) on the Light Bee X to 384 ft-lb on the Ultra Bee.
Surron lists the Ultra Bee at 0 to 31 mph in 1.84 seconds. That figure tells you how hard it pulls. On loose dirt, power like that asks for smooth throttle control and real experience.
More power is only useful if you can control it. A light bike ridden well is often quicker on a tight trail than a big bike ridden nervously. If you are not sure which group you are in, start with the Light Bee X.
The Ultra Bee carries the larger battery: 74V 60Ah against the Light Bee X’s 60V 40Ah. Multiply volts by amp hours and that is about 4,440 Wh against 2,400 Wh, so the Ultra Bee holds a little under twice the energy.
Trail range is always shorter than the rated figure. Climbing, soft ground and stop and start riding all use more energy than a steady test run.
Fit matters more than power, so start with the numbers you can check.
Both full size Bees use a forged aluminium frame. On either one, check the seat height against your inseam: seated, you should reach the ground with at least the balls of both feet. Our guide to electric dirt bike sizes shows how to measure.
The Surron Hyper Bee is the lightest Bee we carry, and the natural first Surron for a younger or smaller rider. It tops out at 40 mph with up to 35 miles at 25 mph from its 58V 22Ah battery.
That is still a real dirt bike speed. A child who is new to riding should start on a kids bike with speed modes a parent sets. We compare those in our kids electric dirt bike guide.
A common path through the lineup: the Hyper Bee for a smaller rider, the Light Bee X once they fit a full size frame, and the Ultra Bee only once they ride a light bike with full control.

Solid tires never go flat. Air filled tires ride better and grip better. Which trade off suits you depends on your roads and how much fuss you will accept.
