ASAP electric scooter lineup compared: A9, 10 V1, 10 V2, 10D and A11

ASAP builds five folding scooters with suspension at both wheels. Here is how the A9, 10 V1, 10 V2, 10D and A11 differ, and which rider each one suits.

Published Nov 1, 20267 min read

The short answer

Every ASAP electric scooter we carry folds and has spring suspension front and rear, so the choice is about motors and battery. The A9 and 10 V1 are single motor scooters at 28 and 30 mph on the same 48V 13Ah battery. The 10 V2 adds a second motor and 35 mph at the same 61.7 lb. The 10D moves to a 1080Wh battery for up to 55 miles at 34 mph, and the A11 tops the line with 60V, 55 mph, up to 70 miles, hydraulic brakes and off-road tires.

  • A9 and 10 V1: single motor, 48V 13Ah, up to 40 miles and 61.7 lb; the 10 V1 has the stronger motor and bigger tires.
  • 10 V2: dual 800W motors, 35 mph and five speed modes from 9 to 35 mph, at the same weight.
  • 10D: dual 1000W motors and a 48V 22.5Ah (1080Wh) battery for up to 55 miles, at 82 lb.
  • A11: dual 1600W motors, a 60V 35Ah battery, 55 mph, up to 70 miles and hydraulic brakes, at 115 lb.

The ASAP lineup at a glance

ASAP’s five electric scooters share a lot: every one folds, has spring suspension at both wheels, carries an IP54 water rating, has front and rear LED lights with turn signals and offers five speed modes. What changes is the motor count, battery and brakes.

ASAP also makes electric bikes such as the Zebra, Varna, Pioneer and Zen. See them all on the ASAP brand page.

A9 and 10 V1: the single motor pair

The A9 and 10 V1 share a 48V 13Ah (624Wh) battery, a 40 mile range rating, a 61.7 lb weight and a front disc with a rear drum brake. Both charge in 6 to 8 hours and have an LCD screen.

  • ASAP A9: a 500W hub motor (1152W peak) with 55 N·m of torque, 28 mph, 9 x 3.0 inch air tires, dual spring suspension front and rear, app control and an aluminum alloy frame. It carries riders up to 220 lb.
  • ASAP 10 V1: an 800W hub motor (1200W peak), 30 mph and bigger 10 x 3.0 inch air tires. It carries riders up to 265 lb.

Pick the A9 if you want app control and the lower price; pick the 10 V1 if you weigh more than 220 lb or want the larger tires. Bigger tires roll over cracks and potholes more easily; our electric scooter wheel size guide explains why.

10 V2: the second motor at the same weight

The 10 V2 adds a second motor without adding weight. Two 800W hub motors (1600W rated, 2400W peak) with 75 N·m of torque run on the same 48V 13Ah battery, for 35 mph and up to 40 miles. It still weighs 61.7 lb.

It also moves to disc brakes front and rear and 11 x 3.0 inch air tires, and you can choose off-road or city wheels. ASAP lists all five speed modes: Eco at 9 mph, Standard at 15, Sport at 24, Turbo at 30 and Max at 35. The display supports NFC, and charging takes 9 hours or more.

Same battery, more power, same range rating. A second motor helps on hills and from a stop, but riding in the faster modes drains the 624Wh battery sooner. If range matters more than pull, look at the 10D. Our guide to single vs dual motor electric scooters covers the trade.

10D: the long range dual motor

The 10D is the ASAP for long commutes. Two 1000W hub motors (2400W peak) and a 48V 22.5Ah (1080Wh) battery give it 34 mph and up to 55 miles, the most range of the 48V models.

It rides on 10 x 3.0 inch air tires with spring suspension front and rear, stops with a disc brake on each wheel and uses dual 48V 25A controllers. The display supports NFC, and it has front and rear LED lights with turn signals. It weighs 82 lb, carries riders up to 265 lb and charges in 9 hours or more.

Against the 10 V2, the 10D carries a much bigger battery for 15 more miles of rated range, at about 20 lb more weight. Top speed is close: 34 mph on the 10D, 35 mph on the 10 V2.

A11: the 60V flagship

The A11 is a different class of scooter. Two 1600W hub motors (3000W peak) with 90 N·m of torque and a 60V 35Ah (2100Wh) battery give it 55 mph and up to 70 miles.

  • Brakes: hydraulic front and rear, the only ASAP scooter with hydraulics.
  • Suspension: front and rear, with 90 mm of travel up front and 100 mm at the rear.
  • Tires: 11 x 4 inch off-road knobby tires.
  • Size: 115 lb, carries riders up to 300 lb, folds, and charges in 9 hours or more.

At 115 lb and 55 mph, the A11 suits experienced riders with ground level storage. Knobby tires grip on dirt and gravel but hum and wear faster on pavement. Our guide to off-road electric scooters explains what makes a scooter trail ready.

Speed and local rules

Every ASAP here is faster than many cities allow for electric scooters on public roads, and the A11 is far faster. Rules on speed, where you may ride and helmets vary by state and city, so check your state motor vehicle agency and your city website before you ride. The lower speed modes are there for crowded streets.

IP54 means protection from splashing water, not heavy rain or puddles, so avoid riding through standing water. Power off and follow the maker’s manual for routine checks, send brake, battery and controller work to a qualified technician, and see our warranty page for covered faults.

Which ASAP suits you

  • A first scooter with app control: the A9.
  • Single motor, bigger tires, heavier riders: the 10 V1.
