Electric Mini Bikes & Pit Bikes

Every electric dirt bike on this page rolls on 16-inch or smaller wheels. That makes them mini bikes and pit bikes: lower, lighter and easier to handle than a full-size electric dirt bike, and the natural fit for teens, smaller adults and anyone new to off-road riding. The range includes the Riding’times GT54 and GT54 Pro, NAVEE Storm G, NANROBOT GTR and the Surron Hyper Bee.

Mini bike vs pit bike vs full-size electric dirt bike

The terms overlap. A mini bike is any small-wheeled electric motorbike with a low seat, often with a fat rear tire and a simple frame. A pit bike is a small dirt bike in the style of a full-size one, with knobby tires and suspension built for tracks. Both sit on 16-inch or smaller wheels and are on this page. A full-size electric dirt bike has 17-inch or larger wheels, a taller seat and more power, and lives on the main electric dirt bikes page.

Sizing by rider height and weight

Each maker publishes a rider height range and a maximum rider weight, and those two figures decide fit. The rider should be able to sit with both feet touching the ground and reach the bars without leaning forward. A model that is too tall is hard to control at a stop; one that is too small cramps the rider and overloads the suspension. Where a maker gives a minimum age, we show it; where it does not, we do not invent one.

Speed settings and limiters

Most mini and pit bikes have two or three ride modes that cap top speed, and some accept a physical limiter. Start a new rider in the lowest mode and unlock the next only when braking and cornering are confident. The product page lists each model’s modes and its maker top speed.

Off-road use

Mini and pit bikes are sold for off-road use on private land, trails and tracks where they are permitted. They are not sold as road vehicles. Rules vary by state; check yours before riding anywhere public. Riders should wear a motocross helmet, goggles, gloves and boots; see helmets and protective gear.

Comparing models

Sort the grid by top speed or motor power. Product pages list rider height range, maximum rider weight, motor power, battery voltage, top speed and range in the same spec rows so the GT54, GT54 Pro, Storm G, GTR and Hyper Bee can be compared like for like.

Questions

Asked and answered

What size mini bike is right for a teen?

Use the maker’s rider height range and maximum rider weight on each product page. A teen should sit with both feet on the ground and reach the bars comfortably; if in doubt, choose the lower seat.

How fast do electric pit bikes go?

It varies by model, from around 20 mph on the smallest to 40 mph and above on performance models such as the Surron Hyper Bee. The maker’s top speed is on every product page.

What is the weight limit on a mini bike?

Each maker sets a maximum rider weight, and it differs a lot between models. It is listed in the spec rows; stay within it for range, handling and warranty.

Mini bike or pit bike: what is the difference?

A mini bike is a small electric motorbike with a low seat and often a fat rear tire; a pit bike is a scaled-down dirt bike with knobby tires and track-style suspension. Both use 16-inch or smaller wheels.
