Electric scooter with seat: who it suits and how to choose one
A seat turns an electric scooter into something you can ride for longer without tired legs. It also adds weight and changes how the ride feels. Here is how to choose.

Most electric bikes come in one frame size, so the rider height range on the listing is your size chart. Here is how to read it, measure yourself and fine-tune the fit.
The short answer
An electric bike size chart starts with your height. Most electric bikes come in one frame size with an adjustable seat post, so the maker lists a rider height range instead of S, M and L sizes. In our catalog those ranges run from 4 ft 9 in on the Hiboy EX9 and EX6F up to 6 ft 7 in on the AOTOS FLUX X26. Pick a model whose range puts you near the middle, then check the listed seat height against your inseam, make sure you can stand over the frame, and set the saddle so your leg is almost straight at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
Regular bicycles often come in several frame sizes. Most electric bikes come in one. The battery, motor and wiring are built around a single frame, and the maker covers different riders with an adjustable seat post and, on some models, an adjustable handlebar.
That is why the listing gives a rider height range instead of a size. If your height sits inside the range, the bike can be set up to fit you. If it sits near the edge, read the seat height and handlebar height too, because that is where the fit gets tight.
For the bigger choices (class, motor, battery and frame style), start with how to choose an electric bike. This guide covers fit only.
These are the rider height ranges the makers list for models in our catalog. Each figure comes from the product listing.

Maker figures, checked September 2026. Real range and speed depend on rider weight, terrain, temperature and riding mode.
Not every listing gives a height range. If the model you want does not show one, ask us before you order and we will check the maker’s figures for you.
Under about 5 ft 3 in: look at ranges that start low. The Hiboy EX9 and EX6F start at 4 ft 9 in, the Gyroor EB262, EB263 and Riding’times GT33 at 5 ft 1 in, and the AOTOS FLUX X26 at 5 ft 2 in. A step-through or low-step frame also makes getting on and off easier; see our guide to step-through electric bikes.
Over about 6 ft 2 in: look at ranges that end high. The AOTOS FLUX X26 goes to 6 ft 7 in, the Hiboy EX9 and EX6F to 6 ft 5 in, and the Hiboy EX11 and Riding’times GT33 to 6 ft 3 in. Tall riders should also check the longest seat post setting, since a saddle that is too low strains the knees.
In the middle (about 5 ft 4 in to 6 ft): most models in the chart fit. Choose by frame style, wheel size and weight instead.
Two numbers do most of the work: your height and your inseam.
A rough rule of thumb: on a regular bike frame you pedal with the saddle above your inseam height, and you tip the bike or slide forward off the saddle to put a foot down. On a moped-style bike with a bench seat, many riders prefer to reach the ground with the balls of their feet while seated.
Folding and small wheel bikes sit lower and feel shorter. The Gyroor C33 rolls on 14 in wheels and folds at the frame and handlebar stem; it suits riders who need to store or carry the bike.
Fat tire bikes on 20 x 4 in tires put you a little lower than a full size wheel would, and the wide tire adds stability. The Hiboy EX6F, AOTOS FLUX X26 and Riding’times GT33 are examples.
26 and 27.5 in wheels give a longer, taller bike that suits average and tall riders well. The Hiboy EX9, Gyroor EB262 and EB263 and NAVEE Wolf X are in this group.
Moped-style bikes with a long bench seat fit differently from pedal-first frames. Sit on the listed seat height figure, not the height range alone.
A bike that fits your height also has to carry your weight. Every listing gives a maximum load. In the chart above, the Gyroor EB263 lists 375 lbs, the NAVEE Wolf X 331 lbs, the AOTOS FLUX X26, Hiboy EX9 and Riding’times GT33 330 lb, the Hiboy EX11 300 lbs, the Gyroor EB262 275 lbs, the Hiboy EX6F and Gyroor C33 265 lb, and the Speedway Riders Q3 220 lbs. Remember that the figure includes anything you carry.

Look for a rider height range that starts at or below 5 ft 2 in, such as the Hiboy EX9 and EX6F (from 4 ft 9 in), the Gyroor EB262 and EB263 (from 5 ft 1 in) or the AOTOS FLUX X26 (from 5 ft 2 in). A step-through or low-step frame makes it easier still.
In our catalog, the AOTOS FLUX X26 lists riders up to 6 ft 7 in, and the Hiboy EX9 and EX6F up to 6 ft 5 in. Check the seat height range too, so the saddle can rise high enough for your leg to almost straighten.
Most of the models we carry come in one frame size with an adjustable seat post. The maker lists a rider height range instead of S, M and L sizes.
At the bottom of the pedal stroke your leg should be almost straight, with a slight bend at the knee. Keep the seat post above its minimum insertion mark.

Three wheels mean no balancing at a stop, a seat and room for shopping. They also mean a wider, heavier machine that corners differently. Here is how to decide.
Teens sit between kids bikes and full size adult bikes, and the right choice depends on height, weight and experience more than age. Here is how the teen-friendly models we carry compare.
