250–500W: Ideal for flat city streets, lighter riders (under 180 lbs), and short commutes under 10 miles. Expect 15–20 MPH.
600W–1000W: Great all-around power for urban commuters. Handles hills well, 20–30 MPH, and supports riders up to 265 lbs.
1100W–2000W: Serious performance. Excellent hill-climbing, 30–45 MPH, and suitable for heavier riders or rough terrain.
2000W+: High-performance and off-road territory. Dual motors, 45–70 MPH, extended range. For experienced riders only.
Yes! Since 2020, electric scooters are fully legal in New York City. Riders must be 16 years or older. Scooters are permitted on streets and in protected bike lanes. The legal speed limit on NYC streets is 20 MPH. Helmets are required for riders under 18. Sidewalk riding is prohibited. Always ride responsibly and check the latest NYC DOT guidelines.
